Job Description
The Software Controls Engineer will take a lead role in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of Controls & Automation projects due to a backlog of high-profile customer projects and lack of local support. The Controls Engineer will drive integrating technologies to enable the future of Digital Manufacturing and Predictive Analytics to improve quality, enable increased throughput and support innovation. You should have a strong technical background to troubleshoot hard problems and develop failsafe solutions.
 

What You Will Do:
• Provide controls engineering / technical support to manufacturing operations in troubleshooting, rebuilding and repair of electrical equipment and automated systems
• Provide controls engineering background for continuous improvement of manufacturing operations through the design, selection and installation of new equipment and systems as well as the improvement of existing equipment.
• Incorporates PLC programming to the production process that provides reliable production operation, reduces electrical energy cost, reduces cycle time and increases OEE productivity.
• Troubleshoots networking and server issues.
• Create and maintain controls & networking documentation of equipment and systems.
• Develop the architecture, PLC logic programming and HMI operator interface for production equipment.
• Facilitate projects including operational specifications, sequence of operation, schematic drawings, PLC logic programming, installation drawings, onsite commissioning, and validation of the system design.
• Design and specify machine control systems; integrated automation including robotics and servo controls; HMI systems; and data collection systems, according to design standard
• Provide training to reliability technicians, including assisting in writing and developing standard operating procedures

 

MUST be proficient in Allen Bradley PLC programming/Troubleshooting
