Maintenance Electrician $25- $36 and hour

Job Description

Join a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality custom plastic profile extrusions. With over 70 years of business experience, this company is poised for significant growth and aims to double in size within the next decade. Serving diverse industries such as transportation, agriculture, energy, refrigeration, retail, commercial, and building, we are looking for skilled maintenance electricians to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting operations to diagnose and repair facilities, equipment, and machinery.
  • Make setups and adjustments on production equipment.
  • Repair equipment such as extruders, saws, polars, conveyors, vacuums, loaders, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Conduct reactive maintenance and a variety of maintenance, testing, inspection, and repair functions.
  • Ensure the safe repair of equipment to prevent injury to employees or damage to equipment.
  • Enter hours in a CMMS system daily and sign out inventory to work orders.
  • Use a voltmeter and understand voltage, current, and resistance.
  • Change motors and read wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain gearboxes, bearings, seals, mechanical drives, and power transmission systems.
  • Operate and maintain water pumps and gear pumps, including priming and seal replacement.
  • Align motor couplings, sprockets, and pulleys.
  • Work with taper locks, drive chains, and adjust chains using chain breaks and links.
  • Test fuses and read electrical and mechanical blueprints.
  • Perform pipefitting tasks such as gluing PVC and sweating copper and drain lines.
  • Understand the operation of heat exchangers.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, and blueprints.
  • Experience in PLC troubleshooting and VFDs.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting 480V three-phase motors.
  • Proficiency in voltage reading and operating in control panels (rewiring, troubleshooting, disconnects, relays, limit switches).
  • Ability to read ladder logic and meters.
  • Knowledge of the difference between incremental and absolute encoders.
  • Welding skills.

Work Environment

Candidates will work in a moderately clean plastic manufacturing environment. Shifts available are 1st shift (6AM-6PM, 2-2-3 schedule) and 3rd shift (6PM-6AM, 2-2-3 schedule).


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00
