Burano Home Collective is an importer and distributor of home fashion essentials. We design, source, and manufacture everything that we sell, which allows us to deliver the best products at the best prices to our customers. We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist that will coordinate all company human resources activities, such as payroll, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services.

We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist that will coordinate all company human resources activities, such as payroll, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services.
Responsibilities
- Maintain company’s compliance with state and federal employer regulations
- Continued involvement in and refinement of the recruitment process, including generating job descriptions, posting advertisements, and managing the hiring process
- Help create staffing plan for busy season and work with recruiters/staffing agency liaisons
- Process terminations based on government regulations including COBRA processing
- Design and implement effective training and development plans
- Weekly payroll processing
- Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages
- Administer benefits programs such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), STD and LTD, life insurance, and paid time off
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization
- Author disciplinary warnings and performance improvement plans
- Ensure all employee records are maintained and updated with new hire information or changes in employment status
- Respond to employees’ queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Help develop, implement, and evaluate all human resource policies, procedures, and structures for the organization
- Assists VP People Ops in finding appropriate resolution to employee relations issues and providing HR guidance to employees and managers
- Process employment verification requests and unemployment security verifications
- Develop and distribute company memos, messages, etc.
- Organize employee engagement activities for cultural success
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in a similar role
- SHRM certification or HR-related education is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a relevant field.
- Strong working knowledge of HR functions and procedures (ex: pay and benefits, recruitment, training, and development)
- Commitment to staying current on the understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making
- Composure and confidentiality required to handle disciplinary and grievance issues
- Strength of character, ethics, and commitment, and reliability
- Exposure to HR/Payroll Management Applications a plus
Schedule Requirements
- Monday – Friday first shift
- Hybrid Schedule
- Able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time while performing duties
- Must be capable of lifting up-to 10lbs
