Overall Purpose of Job


This position has ultimate responsibility for all strategic and operational Human Resources functions including:

  • Compensation
  • Benefits
  • Employee Relations
  • Talent planning & development
  • Recruiting
  • Onboarding

The overall firm people strategy is the HR Director’s responsibility in addition to executing all HR programs and practices


This HRD is a hybrid strategic and execution role


This position will also direct the work of People Results’ Benefits/Comp/HRIS Specialist and Project Scheduler and will oversee and manage Project Coordinators, and the IT Manager


Strong reliance on the HRD by the CEO and COO is expected as chief people leadership advisor with frequent points of view brought into the highest level of decision making at the firm. The HRD is a member of the executive leadership team (ELT).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


HR Metrics

  • Establish performance metrics for HR and Project Management programs
  • Track and report outcomes for established metrics


Talent Acquisition & Development

  • In conjunction with the ELT, develop and maintain a system to project staffing needs and implement recruiting and training programs to meet those needs
  • Oversee the recruiting process for all positions
  • Oversee the onboarding and orientation process for new employees and independent contractors
  • Ensure all employment paperwork is fully completed and appropriately maintained to ensure compliance with all federal, state laws and guidelines
  • Responsible for learning and development strategy, including guiding e-learning, project lead development, and overseeing employee development requests including conversion requests from 1099 contractor status to W-2 employee


Compensation & Benefits

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation plan for all employees that supports recruiting and retention and aligns with organizational business strategies, ensures that salaries are equitable and are market-competitive for similar positions
  • Develop a Compensation Philosophy to be reviewed annually and amended as appropriate
  • Review consultant compensation plan and make recommendations to the ELT that support recruiting and retention and align with organizational business strategies, ensures that salaries are equitable and are market-competitive for similar positions
  • Responsible for the integrity of our pay vs. bill rate approach, annual merit review coordination with ELT, and close partnership with finance/payroll to ensure flawless execution of IRI’s pay programs

Employee Benefit Programs

  • Administer group benefits plans
  • Manage the relationship with any third-party brokers/providers
  • Ensure all related legal documents are in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Periodically enhance or modify employee benefit programs


Employee Relations

  • Provide coaching, counseling, and assistance to employees as needed to maintain positive relationships with each other and with leads and ELT
  • Investigate and respond to employee complaints, taking follow-up action as appropriate
  • Assist ELT with employee performance and conduct problems, including corrective action and formal discipline when appropriate
  • Ensure People Results employment practices comply with applicable employment laws


Office Oversight

  • Provide oversight of the physical office, including ensuring that staffing is adequate, and that needed resources are available for staff working in the corporate office


Organizational Policies

  • Maintain organizational policy and practice approaches and ensure documentation is kept current with actual practices
  • Review and update as needed
  • Ensure that all policies are in full compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations


Supervisory Responsibilities


This position will supervise employees in the following positions:


HR


Administrative Project Coordinators

  • Manage the project coordinator team including making assignments
  • Ensure that work is distributed equitably and fits with the skills of project coordinators and the scope of the project
  • Manage relationships between project coordinators and consultants

IT

  • Manage IT including making assignments, and connectivity between IT and the consultants/employees
  • Manage relationships between IT manager and consultants

Project Resource Management

  • Develop a strategic vision for future resource management across the company’s client portfolio, setting the direction and priorities while empowering resources to execute and deliver on the vision

Conduct regularly scheduled 1:1 update meetings with all direct reports

Requirements:
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in a human resources generalist or human resources business partner role
  • Minimum of four years supervisory experience
  • Minimum of six years managing human resources programs and functions
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, or related field
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Project management experience
  • Professional services or consulting firm experience
  • Multi-state employer experience
  • Experience in M&A activity, including due diligence, target evaluation, post-deal integration, and achievement of people synergy elements/targets
  • Demonstrated leadership proficiency and executive presence, history of growth through promotions, advancement, and progression in terms of types of assignments and area of responsibility
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience in all of the HR functions outlined in the “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” section above
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in areas of Human Resources functions which require compliance with federal and state laws
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and demonstrated commitment to the organization’s people, mission, culture, and values
  • Ability to work independently
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
