Job Title: Cable Technician

Overview: TEKsystems is seeking experienced Cable Technicians for a new site under construction in Temple, TX. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing low voltage infrastructure and setting up server racks for one of the largest low voltage contracting companies in the industry. This position offers excellent opportunities for long-term growth within a reputable company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Layout and install wireways, bus ducts, cable trays, switches, receptacles, and other devices.
• Construct telecommunications closets, including mounting and installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optics, and hardware.
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cables as required.
• Complete all IDC connections, such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels.
• Pull wires and oversee/direct conduit installations and wire pulling.
• Operate tools and equipment requiring the use of both hands (e.g., cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers).

Work Environment:

• Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Live construction site: Steel toe boots and all required PPE are mandatory.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in low voltage infrastructure installation.
• Ability to operate various tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications closet construction and grounding requirements.
