Salary Range: $28-$39 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time position with varying schedule (primarily Monday - Friday, day shift), occasional OT and weekend hours may be required
Location: Las Vegas, NV
***candidate must have their own tools and truck (mileage reimbursement offered)***
Job Summary
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
o Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as front-end loaders (980-988 CAT), bulldozers (D9+), road graders, backhoes, skid steers, and other machinery as well as
water trucks and street sweepers.
o Address issues related to small engines, pumps, compressors, and chain saws.
Mechanical Systems:
o Overhaul and maintain transmissions, differentials, and engine components.
o Conduct engine tune-ups, including those with computerized control systems.
Mobile Shop Maintenance:
o Maintain and operate a mobile shop truck, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate service records, assist in parts inventory management, and process work orders.
Qualifications:
Experience:
o Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. (3+ years)
o Familiarity with a variety of heavy equipment and machinery including troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, and rebuilds.
Skills:
o Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
o Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and electrical systems a PLUS
o Experience with CMMS software (computerized maintenance management systems) **may also be referred to as maintenance management software or electronic equipment maintenance system.
Certifications:
OSHA required (90-day grace period after starting), MSHA provided.
