Position Summary
Develops, evaluates and enhances manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards. Support product manufacturing issues, process improvement and implementation of production control systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze, develop, integrate and/or maintain effective manufacturing methods to enhance and/or increase productivity.
- Provide day to day manufacturing process support to production including but not limited to fabrication processes, tooling, machining, assembly, and heat treating.
- Collect technical customer requirements and lead efforts in performing detailed analysis to create and maintain bill of material and manufacturing process documentation.
- Works with cross functional teams to determine manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Provide detailed support and oversight of new product introduction and project timelines as appropriate or required.
- Support process improvement initiatives including investigating and troubleshooting production, material or process problems.
- Apply continuous improvement methods, such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability or cost effectiveness.
- Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the manufacturing launch of new product introduction including technical development, project schedules, goal establishment, execution, and results evaluation.
- Assist and train others in engineering production to support employee development.
- Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience or equivalent of education and experience in Aerospace, Medical and/or nuclear metal components.
- Experience manufacturing with exotic metals preferred and/or TIG and/or laser welding, cold working and heat treating processes preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control preferred.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
- Understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to prioritize and handle workflow.
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules and apply general rules to specific problems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
