Job Summary
The Enterprise Citrix Administrator plays a crucial role in Platform Services within Infrastructure Services, specializing in managing and optimizing Citrix environment. This role is accountable for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Citrix systems publish virtual applications and desktops. The Enterprise Citrix Administrator will ensure these systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with UCSF business goals and IT standards.
The Enterprise Citrix Administrator will positively impact UCSF's operations and culture by ensuring UCSF's IT infrastructure is operable, secure, efficient, and effective in service of UCSF's academic mission. This team member will advance the UCSF's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Our placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $132,400 - $198,600 (Annual Rate).

The Platform Services team within Infrastructure Services is committed to empowering the academic, medical, and research mission of UCSF by ensuring that all customers have seamless, secure, and accessible technological support. The team oversees the management and maintenance of various technology platforms, including systems, databases, and cloud services, to guarantee they are secure, readily available, and performing optimally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of experience/training, in one or more of the following fields: computer information systems, management information systems.
- 5+ years of Experience in one or more of the following fields: Citrix administration, including Citrix Virtual Apps, Citrix Desktop.
- Demonstrated successful experience in information technology, platform services, or Epic Client Systems.
- Thorough knowledge of Citrix virtual apps and desktop administration.
- Thorough knowledge of Citrix systems. Skilled in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Citrix environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Advanced customer service skills. Ability to triage and escalate to supervisors and/or other teams for resolution.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
- Advanced organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects. Experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues.
- Advanced demonstrated problem-solving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines. Able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and make decisions with integrity.
- Extensive experience participating in activities to advance an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
- Thinks creatively and proposes innovative ideas, including the incorporation of new technologies or processes. Is able to work with agility in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Citrix Certified Associate - App Delivery and Security (CCA-AppDS)
- Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization (CCA-V)
- Epic Client Systems Administrator
- Experience with Epic Client Systems Administration.
- Knowledge of network architectures, including WAN, LAN, and cloud network technologies, as well as security protocols and firewall configurations.
- Awareness of IT compliance requirements, including relevant data privacy laws and regulations.
- Ability to automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
