Job Description: A leading law firm in California is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position involves preparing legal documents, managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and assisting with various aspects of legal case management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and format legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials.
- File documents with the court electronically and physically, following state and federal filing procedures.
- Manage attorneys’ calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Assist with billing, time entry, and tracking deadlines.
- Maintain case files, ensuring that all necessary documentation is organized and accessible.
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, court personnel, and other external parties.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal secretary in a law firm environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
- Strong knowledge of California legal procedures and court rules.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with e-filing systems in California state and federal courts.
