SUMMARY

This position works with the Facilities team to maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the University of Saint Joseph. May be assigned to set up and break down meeting rooms and catering spaces to meet the needs of the University events operation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs custodial duties including but not limited to:

Bathrooms – complete cleaning and sanitizing

Floors – mopping, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, buffing, extracting carpets

Fixtures – clean and polish

Dusting including high dusting

Detail cleaning

Removal of trash and recycling to approved areas

Window cleaning

Function room set up and breakdown

Deliver packages and supplies

Move furniture

Special Events:

Daily set up of tables and chairs for special events.

Break down and storing tables and chairs as needed.

Moving tables and chairs between buildings as needed to fulfill requests.

Meet with events coordinators for planning and execution of special events.

Time management is essential when executing multiple events in a day.

Some weekends and on-call may be required.

Assists in light building maintenance, including but not limited to:

Changing light bulbs

Changing filters

Minor repairs

Perform weather related grounds clean-up as needed, including but not limited to snow removal.

Swimming Pool maintenance - place chemicals in pool and vacuum pool

Notifies Lead Custodian or other member of management of any safety issues

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

This is a university setting where the needs of the students, faculty and staff are paramount. This is a team oriented work environment. There is also a fair amount of independent work. Safety is a focus. Working safe and being able to identify safety concerns and communicating them to leadership.
