Set Up Mechanic - Night Shift Job at Sabert in Sayreville

This position is for NIGHT SHIFT schedule and located in 879 Main Street, Sayreville, NJ.

Basic Function

Perform all Thermoforming Machine Changeovers with regard to Thermoformer, Cutting Stations and tooling and setting up of automation equipment. Minimize downtime with proper set-up. Consistently develop ways to improve the downtime associated with Changeovers. after removal to ensure all pieces are in good working conditions. Assist operators with troubleshooting and minimizing downtime on all lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Tooling Maintenance

* Inspect and organize all tooling prior to installation, and after removal to insure all pieces are in good working conditions.

* Report tooling performance for that run should there be any deviation from standard to ensure continued good performance.

* Ensure all tools are repaired prior to installation.

* Safety and Housekeeping

* Ensure that Safety switches and guards are always in place and working. Always follow approved lock-out procedures.

* Keep all thermoforming areas used for changeovers neat and organized.

* Report any unsafe conditions to the Supervisor immediately upon discovery.

* Training and Development

* Must be able and willing to train operators in basic safety and operating procedures.

* Quality

* Responsible for quality of parts coming off the line as it relates to the proper set-up of forming and trimming equipment.

* Thermoforming Machine and Trim Presses

* Coordinate with production manager, supervisor or maintenance manager any repairs, preventative maintenance, or improvements needed on equipment.

* Maintenance Department

* When production process permits assist maintenance department in whatever activity is needed.

* Assist Production Manager in any tasks that may be required at the time.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Good general mechanical skills

* Clean and organized

* In depth and detailed knowledge of Thermoforming, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical processes

* Some knowledge of electrical controllers and circuits

* Analytically oriented to troubleshoot and establish root cause

* Communicate clearly

* Sense of urgency

* Willing to work overtime

Qualifications

* 3 years in thermoforming, machine maintenance and plastics a plus

* High school diploma or equivalent trade school diploma
