Job Summary:
  • The Engineering Supervisor oversees all aspects of maintenance for the equipment and facilities at Distribution Center. This role involves direct supervision of 10-12 Associates and indirect oversight of 12-14 contract employees.
  • Key responsibilities include ensuring safety and environmental compliance, managing work order scheduling and inventory, supporting capital projects, and preparing for inclement weather.
  • dditionally, the Engineering Supervisor shares responsibility for the Engineering budget and indirect sourcing contract management.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical direction to design, plan install and maintain plant facilities, mechanical, electrical equipment, and the associated controls.
  • Schedule and direct all assigned regulatory testing including Alarm and Fire suppression systems.
  • Performs vendor selection, emergency repair authorization and prioritization, final approval of work, manages decisions affecting indirect contract services on their shift.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions that affect the daily operation of the business.
  • Responsible for making decisions that affect Team Members based on Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to Engineering and Operations Team Members.
  • Responsible for Distribution operations, 7 days a week.
  • Must be available in person, as required, to support engineering activities and operational emergencies outside of normal business hours.

Key Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required; BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience leading a facilities maintenance team in a manufacturing, production, or distribution center environment.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with OSHA regulations and their application in the workplace.
  • Procurement: Experience in specifying, selecting, and purchasing parts and equipment to maintain production systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., frequent standing and walking, and the ability to work long hours and occasional weekends.
  • Work Environment: Regular exposure to a light industrial production environment.
  • Language: Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Other Skills:
  • Project/process management, continuous process improvement, and quality control experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
  • bility to read electrical diagrams, troubleshoot, test, and repair mechanical and electronic devices. PLC programming skills are a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge in general plant maintenance, HVAC, preventative maintenance, and mechanical facilities maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong PC literacy.
