SANITATION SUPERVISOR

SANITATION SUPERVISOR
Overview/ SummaryThis position will be responsible for overseeing the Sanitation Department. Which consists of cleaning and sanitizing the plant to maintain conformance to USDA standards within a schedule to ensure maximum operating time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RERSPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees daily operations of the sanitation department
- Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production.
- Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained.
- Work closely with production supervisors and management.
- Supervises, train and develop sanitation team members.
- Develop and follow sanitation procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), USDA and FDA regulations for all sanitation tasks.
- Set up, stock and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
- Comply with, understand and enforces all company policies and standards.
- Inforce and follow all Food Safety and Plant Safety policies, practices and protocols.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous Sanitation experience is required
- Prior experience in food manufacturing plant or similar; meat experience strongly preferred
- Current or previous management or supervisor experience.
- Extensive knowledge and technical skill in sanitation and meat processing jobs and chemicals
- Managerial skills; good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Player with leadership skills
- Experience in leading groups of manufacturing employees, including setting team and individual objectives, managing individual and team performance and building a team approach to problem solving.
- Outstanding communication skills in order to lead engage and motivate individuals and/or teams.
- A thorough understanding of manufacturing principles and leadership applications within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
- Highly organized
- Spanish/English bilingual desired but not required
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time
- Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise
- Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Safely handling and being exposed to chemicals.
- May be exposed to stressful situations and schedule changes.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50# unassisted
