Supra America Machined Parts is a leading manufacturer of parts for the automotive industry, and we are currently hiring for a full-time Machining Operator and a full-time Machinist to join our growing team.

Job Details:

  • Located in Conroe, TX 77303
  • Must be willing and able to work day shift or night shift with weekends, as assigned
  • Must have clear criminal background, and be able to pass a drug screen (after job offer)

Minimum Work Experience, Education & Other Credential Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a same or similar capacity; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience

Machining Operator Job Summary:

Within the precision machining workshop, manufacture the requested products in compliance with the defined effectiveness and efficiency objectives and within the framework of the current and applicable recommendations, instructions, procedures and normative requirements within his or her scope of activity, and notably in relation to safety, the environment, security and quality.

Machining Operator Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 2.1- Load the bars into the bar feeder, put away the cradles and dispose of any waste.
  • 2.2- Fill up the total loss oil reservoir.
  • 2.3- Fill up the cutting oil reservoir.
  • 2.4- Fill up the recirculated oil reservoir.
  • 2.5- Fill up the solvent reservoir.
  • 2.6- Ensure that all the baskets are replaced on the cart as required.
  • 2.7- Ensure that all basket covers are replaced on the inspection table as required.
  • 2.8- Clean the lathe's guards and the inspection table.
  • 2.9- Clean the floor between 2 lathes and between 2 bar feeders.
  • 2.10- Clean the collecting tray and the lathe's top cover.
  • 2.11- Replace the full chip container with an empty one.
  • 2.12- Empty the full chip container into the spin drying system.
  • 2.13- Remove the collected oil tank fitted to the chip spin drying system and replace it with an empty tank.
  • 2.14- Empty the bar-ends tank into the bin corresponding to the raw material concerned.
  • 2.15- Transfer the baskets of bar-turned parts to the washing zone.
  • 2.16- Clean and calibrate the inspection equipment on the station.
  • 2.17- Inspect 1 part per spindle and record the results of the measurements, then print out the shop travelers and identify the baskets.
  • 2.18- Obtain instructions from the operator who worked the previous shift, complete the incidents log and pass on instructions to the operator who will work the next shift.

Machinist Job Summary:

Machinist Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 2.1- Obtain all useful information from the night-shift operator, read and sign the incidents log, then liaise with the day-shift operator.
  • 2.2- Enter all useful information into the Machinist Daily Schedule using the operator’s console on each lathe.
  • 2.3- Complete the Machinist Daily Schedule and organize the day's work.
  • 2.4- Perform any preventive adjustment work required.
  • 2.5- Perform any remedial and corrective adjustment work required.
  • 2.6- Complete the Machining Activity Report for each lathe.
  • 2.7- Check 1 part per spindle and record the results of the measurements, then print out the shop travelers and identify the baskets.
  • 2.8- Complete the Machinist Daily Schedule with the actual times taken to complete the work and make it available.
  • Pass on all useful information to the night-shift operator.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment for Machining Operator and Machinist:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, carrying, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects of up to 50 lbs; frequent use of hands and fingers to handle parts and fine pieces; frequent operating of lathe machines, forklift, and related heavy machinery and equipment. This position will work in an indoor and climate controlled setting the majority of the time with continuous exposure to loud audible noise requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and with occasional exposure to an outdoor non-climate controlled setting.
