- 2nd Shift: 3:00 pm - 1:30 am
We are seeking a dedicated Production Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting serial numbers and part conditions, managing inventories, performing masking, grit blasting, operating furnaces, and conducting various other technical tasks. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to follow established procedures meticulously.
Responsibilities:- Visually inspect serial numbers and part conditions to verify acceptability.
- Interpret findings from inspection documentation and react according to established procedures.
- Track and manage tooling and consumable inventories.
- Perform liquid and tape masking on components using various tools and equipment according to WI/Drawings to maintain coating allowances.
- Perform manual and robotic pre-process grit blasting for thermal spray on components according to specifications and interpret results.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment to check work and record in an electronic database.
- Conduct in-process inspection of own work and others' work before part movement to the next operation.
- Operate controls on atmospheric and vacuum furnaces under direct supervision, load and unload own work.
- Understand loading configurations and AMS2750 requirements for furnaces and job aides.
- Assist operators in setting up equipment and maintaining tooling.
- Operate small cranes and forklifts to move equipment, parts, and material.
- Data entry/confirmation of required quality documentation.
- Report and monitor abnormal production time per production step.
- Independently carry out assigned technician work and correct non-conforming hardware during the reconditioning process where applicable.
- Train entry-level technicians for coating prep, braze, and heat treatment.
- Set up and install brazing equipment according to process requirements.
- Execute brazing requirements on gas turbine components as per technical specifications for joining and putty braze.
- Experience with grinding and blasting of components for braze preparation according to specifications.
- Advise and/or participate in the design and fabrication of brazing tools and fixtures as required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience with specific skills in at least one of the following disciplines: grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal (strip line), blasting, heat treat, machining, or welding.
- 2+ years of experience interpreting technical drawings or work instructions.
- 2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, time-keeping applications, and folder structures.
- Experience with power tools like die grinders, right angle grinders, and belt sanders.
- Experience with grinding, polishing, and finishing techniques.
- Good knowledge of abrasive materials such as wheels, belts, and discs.
- Experience with manufacturing, assembly, auto body repairs, fiberglass, woodworking, and painting (spray booth operation).
- Safety First: Must have steel-toe shoes rated by ASTM F 2413-05 or ANSI Z41-1999 with I/C (Impact/compression), EH (electrical hazard), and SD (Static Dissipative) protection.
- Organized and Clean: Very organized and clean manufacturing facility.
- Skill Rotation: Rotate between different departments to gain various skills.
