We are offering an exciting opportunity in Harrisonburg, Virginia, for a skilled Accounting Manager/Supervisor. This role is situated within the industry sector and involves overseeing all general ledger accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, general billing, and revenue postings.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all general ledger accounting operations, ensuring all transactions are coded correctly and adhering to relevant policies and procedures
• Manage the monthly and year-end closing process, supporting staff in accounts payable, payroll, general billing, and other related areas
• Maintain an accurate closing schedule and prepare necessary journal entries for month-end closing
• Regularly reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring all supporting documentation is present and correct
• Timely resolution of any account discrepancies or issues relating to general ledger, cash accounts, payments, or payroll
• Supervise staff accountant, payroll, and accounts payable functions, with the ability to process payroll and accounts payable independently
• Oversee the Representative Payee Program, monitoring compliance and working collaboratively for any program or policy improvements
• Ensure proper timing of payments to vendors, employees, and various payroll withholdings
• Act as a liaison between Human Resources and payroll for system issues and payroll discrepancies
• Provide orientation and training for payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger activities• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential.
• Familiarity with BlackLine is a necessity.
• Knowledge of Concur is mandatory.
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all Accounting Functions.
• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP).
• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential.
• Proven experience in Auditing is mandatory.
• Experience in managing Billing Functions is required.
