Senior Software Engineer II (SSE2), McLean, VA

Position: SSE2

We are seeking a candidate with exceptional communication skills and deep knowledge of Android development, fluent in Java, JavaScript, React-Native, Kotlin, and C++. The ideal candidate will leverage their understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to write software in a full-stack web and mobile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leverage relevant software development experience to radiate best practices and accelerate development.
2. Manage availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency of products by engineering reliability into software and systems.
3. Identify opportunities for code refactoring and performance optimizations regularly and champion these efforts within the team.
4. Serve as an experienced mentor to junior software engineers by sharing best practices and providing guidance on proficiency.
5. Contribute to Appian's long-term documentation by publishing relevant, high-quality content to Engineering's technical documentation site.

Requirements:

Master of Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer in an Android environment, or in lieu of the employer will accept a Bachelor of Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer in an Android environment.
