Candidates must currently hold an Active Secret Clearance or above
Our client is looking for a a Hardware Engineer to design and maintain satellite communications payload emulation systems used within the group and delivered to industry. The systems consist of embedded single board computers which control a variety of custom-built digital hardware boards and RF equipment. The engineer will be required to develop a system level understanding of the unit so that the operation of the underlying digital hardware implementations can be assessed. In many cases, issues with the existing hardware will occur which require troubleshooting and anomaly resolution. The hardware engineer will work in a hands-on lab environment to determine the root cause of the issue, suggest xes, oversee the resolution process, and test/verify the solution. In some cases, the engineer will be required to generate schedule estimates and documentation of the issues and solutions.
The work associated with this position requires involved hand-on work on a laboratory requirement. The candidate should be familiar with digital hardware laboratory tools, equipment and procedures. Good communication skills are required since the engineer will be working closely with other engineers and technicians to accomplish the required tasking.
Must Have:
-Hardware Design
-FPGA development tools
-FPGA Programming
-VHDL / Verilog
-Expertise in space wire cable assemblies, hardware, firmware, and government off the shelf IP.
-SATCOM systems experience
-Expertise in Xilinx, Aurora, IP development and testing
-Testing and Evaluation

Candidates should have an ACTIVE clearance in order to be considered for this position
