Responsible for the management of food services, which include the cafeteria and special food services, in compliance with government and management directives. Essential functions: + Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and food services activities of the department. + Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, implement departmental and personnel changes as approved by the finance & administration director, and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementation. + Develop the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations. + Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting food services; coordinate with other departments to promote center objectives. + Regularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports. + Provide appetizing, nutritious and realistically proportioned meals in a clean, comfortable environment. + Ensure quality of production and food purchase requirements; maintain cost control to stay within budget limitations. + Conduct regular inspections of food service areas and ensure proper documentation and records maintenance of all inspections. Maintain quality standards. + Coordinate with and provide support to the culinary arts training program; manage instruction of culinary arts trainees assigned to practicum in the cafeteria. + Manage preparation of food services for special center functions, visitors and off-center work based learning assignments.
