POSITION TITLE: Accounting Manager

REPORTS TO: Senior Accounting Manager

DEPARTMENT: Finance (Dept 620)

FLSA: Exempt

PURPOSE OF JOB:

As an Accounting Manager with Route 92 Medical, Inc., you will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and be part of our growing accounting and finance team. Primarily responsible for the month-end financial reporting including submitting journal entries over key financial statement line items, such as, cash, prepaids, receivables, accruals, debt, etc. There are plenty of opportunities for you to learn and grow by becoming involved in and managing accounting projects, such as internal controls implementation, accelerating month-end close timing, and improving key accounting processes. This role will provide the opportunity to oversee other accounting and finance professionals to help drive process improvements and achieve efficiencies.

You will have the opportunity to work with internal business partners from various departments, including Manufacturing & Operations, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, and Finance. This open role is based out of our corporate offices in San Mateo, and CA with a manufacturing facility in West Jordon, UT. This role offers a hybrid work schedule which is generally defined as 2 days in the office and 3 days remote from home.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with process improvements and implement best practices and new procedures
• Act as project lead for several planned software implementations
• Act as project lead for the SOX 404A rollout
• File sales tax returns in multiple states
• Participate in the preparation of quarterly financial statements for an S-1
• Prepare account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and journal entries
• Act as the payroll processing backup resource
• Maintain compliance with policies and procedures, SOX controls, and US GAAP

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Roots in the public accounting arena – at least 3 years and obtained the title of Senior Associate or equivalent.
• Biotechnology, Medical Devices, and/or similar industry experience
• Experience working for a startup that went public or got acquired
• Proficiency with one of the commonly used accounting ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite.
• Approximately 5 yrs experience working within the corporate accounting function and/or similar
• Strong general ledger experience

• Experience with sales tax compliance
• Experience in software selection and implementations
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be highly accurate and detail-oriented, with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
