Job Description
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager has a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This individual will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Peachtree Corners facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a diverse warehouse team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Set performance goals for the team, conduct regular evaluations, and identify training and development opportunities.
- Drive team engagement through effective communication, recognition, and feedback mechanisms.
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Implement and enforce warehouse policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage stock control processes, and ensure accurate inventory records using the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning system.
- Ensure that all warehouse equipment is maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment by adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards for warehouse operations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement strategies to optimize warehouse operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Use data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align warehouse operations with overall business objectives.
- Act as a liaison between the warehouse and senior management to provide updates, report challenges, and propose solutions.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of warehouse management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Proven track record of managing and leading diverse teams.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with a focus on motivating and developing team members.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic and fast-paced settings.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and warehouse management software; familiarity with inventory management tools is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with lean warehousing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Experience with supply chain operations, including inventory management and logistics coordination.
Performance Metrics:
- Accuracy of inventory records
- Order fulfillment rate and on-time delivery percentage
- Warehouse operational efficiency (e.g., throughput and cost per unit handled)
