POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action and benefits management. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The HR Generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt positions. Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.

2. Assist HR Manager with coaching, counseling and guiding managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.

3. Monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are completed in a timely manner.

4. Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices in a timely, efficient manner.

5. Assist with Payroll by reviewing timesheets and editing punches.

6. Assists with the preparation of the affirmative action plan.

7. Collaborates with Safety Manager to report, maintain and monitor all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.

8. Provides support to employees by providing leave of absence information that complies with state and federal leave laws.

9. Manage annual open enrollment process. Arranges for the distribution of plan summary materials and required notices, assist with communicating changes to employees and arranges for onsite representation by providers. Conduct employee presentations.

10. Administers training & development modules.

11. Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.

12. Gathers and analyzes HR data and prepares HR reports.

13. Adhere to safety regulations.

14. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Three to five years of experience in a HR Generalist role. Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or equivalent education, training and experience. Good knowledge in employment law. Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures. Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; previous experience working with a HRIS systems. Excellent communication and people skills. Aptitude in problem-solving. Excellent organization skills and detailed oriented. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

ITAR REQUIREMENT:

Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
