Location:
This hybrid position will be primarily remote with occasional travel 5-10% required. Ideal candidate will be located in California, Nevada, Oregon or Washington state. Candidate must be available to work PST business hours.
Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for an array of accounting activities including overseeing the day-to-day activities of the accounting department, the month-end close process, and the review of work prepared by the accountants. The Director of Accounting needs to be experienced and fluent in all accounting basics.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee the day-to-day activities of accounting operations for areas of responsibility
Responsible for month-end close and reporting process including reviewing and approving journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Manage the year-end financial statement and 401K audits
Drive key process improvement and automation projects to reduce and streamline the close cycle
Effectively work across the organization, as an accounting interface with other functional groups
Supervise, direct and review the work of the accounting team
Develop and mentor assigned team members
Be able to reason, ask questions and solve problems
Assist with other projects as requested
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or related business area; 2+ years of people management strongly desired
- Experience with 842 Lease Accounting preferred
- Experience with heavy inventory preferred
- Certified Public Accountant, or qualification and intent to sit for exam a plus
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent organization, management and leadership skills
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct a plus
- Extensive skills in Microsoft Windows and Office tools; excellent command of spreadsheets
- Excellent analytical and organization skills, high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, knee, crouch or crawl, talk and hear
Compensation Range: $120,000 - $160,000*
*Compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, experience, location, etc.
