The Leidos National Security Sector invites applications for a Hardware Engineer position. This role can be based in Columbia, MD.

Job Summary

As a Hardware Engineering Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to analyze complex hardware systems, design architectures, and address technical hardware challenges. Your responsibilities will include procuring equipment, performing acceptance testing, and providing hardware maintenance support both preventively and remedially. You will deploy, install, and implement hardware at various locations across the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS). You will prepare specifications based on documented system requirements, conduct site surveys, and develop Technical Design Packages for installations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and integrate complex systems with other hardware and software components.
  • Conduct analyses of alternatives.
  • Recommend hardware acquisitions and formulate functional requirements and specifications.
  • Analyze hardware specifications to create practical designs for various components.
  • Identify problems with operational hardware and ensure solutions meet user requirements.
  • Assist in preparing installation guides, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess existing configurations and unique requirements.
  • Develop and manage hardware installation schedules.
  • Train personnel on proper hardware usage.
  • Prepare site-related reports and documentation.
  • Configure computers, networking devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Organize and oversee hardware installations across multiple locations.
  • Design test harnesses for integration and testing phases.
  • Conduct analyses related to hardware specifications for unique project needs.
  • Perform operational data analyses to identify improvement opportunities.

Security Clearance requirement:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required for consideration.

Qualifications:

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Hardware Engineer analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution. Five (5) additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
