Job Summary The Android Developer role focuses on designing, developing, and testing Android applications, ensuring seamless functionality, high performance, and maintainability. The candidate must have strong expertise in Kotlin programming, UI testing using the Espresso framework, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. This role requires close collaboration with developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality Android apps in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Android applications using Kotlin, adhering to modern programming practices.
• Implement UI test automation using the Espresso framework, focusing on reliability and maintainability.
• Design, execute, and manage automated test cases for Android apps.
• Integrate automated UI tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Debug and resolve issues encountered during test automation, identifying root causes and proposing solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Ensure test repositories are well-organized and maintained using Git for version control.
Required Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Kotlin, including coroutines, null safety, and object-oriented programming principles.
• Solid understanding of Android development concepts like Activities, Fragments, Views, and the Android lifecycle.
• In-depth knowledge of the Espresso framework for UI testing.
• Experience with Android Studio IDE, including project setup, debugging, and version control integration.
• Strong understanding of automated testing principles and UI testing best practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience integrating JIRA XRAY with test execution.
• Familiarity with test reporting and analytics.
• Awareness of emerging Android technologies and frameworks.
