Ideal Candidate Statement The ideal bus driver candidate for the Ohlone College athletics team is a reliable and safety-conscious individual with a passion for supporting student-athletes and contributing to their success. They have a clean driving record and a valid Class B driver's license (CDL) with the air brake endorsements, ensuring they are fully qualified to operate large passenger vehicles. They are committed to the safety of passengers and adherence to all traffic laws. This candidate is punctual and organized, ensuring that the team arrives at competitions and events on time. They possess excellent communication, fostering a positive and professional atmosphere on the bus. The ideal bus driver candidate is a team player who collaborates seamlessly with coaching staff and athletes, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility for the welfare of everyone on board.

They are also adaptable, able to navigate different routes and weather conditions, ensuring that travel remains smooth and efficient. Their dedication to safety, reliability, and the well-being of all passengers makes them an invaluable asset to the team's success.

This is a temporary position.

Duties and Responsibilities The responsibilities encompass, but are not restricted to, the following: Safely transporting students to and from local community colleges in California. Assisting our intercollegiate teams with the loading and unloading of items. Ensuring the vehicle is maintained in compliance with licensing regulations and Ohlone College procedures, emphasizing safety, sanitation, and overall presentation. Creating a safe, comfortable, and healthy environment for our students and staff. Minimum Qualifications At least one year of experience operating a bus or a similar type of vehicle. AND Possession of a CDL Class B Driver's License with endorsements for Passenger and Air Brakes. AND Driver's Record* AND High school diploma or equivalent education. AND Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.

Employment with Ohlone Community College is not complete or official until applicants meet all pre-employment requirements.
