The opportunity

The GenStudio design team seeks a Sr Design Manager to help us harness the power of creation, marketing, and analytics tools through developing new Gen AI powered marketing workflows. As an integral member of this team, you will push the boundaries of what's possible today, keeping a keen focus on enterprise customers, our strategic business priorities, and the changing landscape of Gen AI driven marketing.

In this role, you will:

  • In this highly collaborative role, you'll drive the foundations team for GenStudio. The foundations team covers design system, integrations, extensibility, and platform constructs that power the creative and generative workflows in GenStudio. You will be an integral part of setting a new standard for a multi-product design system, shaping the nature of core Adobe products, and integrating GenStudio seamlessly into external products for a better together Adobe success story.

  • On a fast-moving team, you'll manage, lead & drive the team forward through strategy, rapid explorations, feedback, and iterations focused on product goals. Your strong visual & verbal communication skills and capacity to remain user and outcome focused are paramount in helping you influence and persuade.

  • Manage a team of designers to establish the future vision for foundations & integrations.

  • Drive design excellence by establishing design standards and principles for scalability, efficiency and consistency across the team.

  • Collaborate with designers, content strategists, and researchers to optimize the system in Figma, including developing standard processes for building and using componentized patterns.

  • Evaluate and improve usability and accessibility of components and be a champion for the user.

  • Support the design and engineering teams, across multiple GenStudio workstreams.

  • Work closely with product managers to ensure what we're building is usable and offers a quality user experience.

  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure common components are built to design specification.

  • Improve the design to development handoff process.

  • Participate and engage in customer calls, UX Research, and external conferences.

What you will need to succeed

Must haves:

  • 5+ years experience in product or UX design.

  • 3+ years' experience leading design teams.

  • Considerable experience developing design systems in Figma. Experience working in other large scale design systems like Polaris given strong consideration.

  • Considerable experience understanding the process and technicality of building extensions and integrations.

  • Experience working with front-end development and/or engineering teams.

  • Strong design sensibilities with experience in UX design, web marketing design, and visual design.

  • A consistent record of accomplishment and portfolio of solid experience design and strategy that meet user needs, website requirements, and business goals.

  • Strong experience design skills using diverse thinking, from the basics to strategic design thinking.

  • Expert skills in design products such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator.

  • Deep knowledge of UX/UI patterns and principles.

  • Drive and passion for improving user experience and usability of complex problems.

  • Flexibility to accept and design against feedback from colleagues in a rapid iterative design process.

  • Involved in designing and running user testing and other qualitative customer validation.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and presentation communication skills.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Hands on skills and experience building and maintaining design system in Figma.

  • Experience collaborating on a multi-product design system.

  • Prior experience crafting design strategy for GenAI, platform experiences, and/or systems.

  • Deep knowledge around and passion for accessible and inclusive design.

  • Deep knowledge about building platforms and extensible systems.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $133,100 -- $256,500 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
