Position Summary:
The Supervisor, Facilities - BOS reports up through JetBlue's Infrastructure, Properties, and Development (IPD) Department. Core responsibilities of this role include management, coordination, and oversight of all facilities-related functions at BOS Airport. The Supervisor oversees all work performed by our business partners, who may be onsite contractually or utilized on an ad hoc basis. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for facilitating communications and information to and from JetBlue's internal customers and business partners. The role includes tracking day-to-day spend against budget, ordering parts and supplies, monitoring critical building systems, approving invoices and utility expenditures, and leading/advising on multiple projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead, promote, and maintain a safety-conscious culture
Oversee the performance of business partners as it relates to facility maintenance
Oversee day-to-day activities at passenger terminal and operational support facilities
Identify/lead/manage facility projects being executed by business partners and contractors
Monitor and assess business partner performance related to our preventive maintenance inspections/repairs
Monitor and ensure the integrity and functionality of critical systems such as: fire suppression, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, HVAC systems, escalators, and elevators
Monitor and assess business partner performance related to janitorial, trash, security monitoring (infrastructure), and horticulture maintenance
Ensure business partners effectively maintain mechanical equipment rooms to ensure clean and safe conditions at all BOS facilities
Consult with stakeholders, user groups, and crewmembers to define and describe project scope, project specifications, resource requirements, and schedule; suggest viable solutions to complex problems in order to meet project and/or plan objectives
Assist with asset management, building aesthetics, and branding efforts
Assist with preparation and management of budgets, expense tracking, and spreadsheets
Assist with development of new Requests for Proposals (RFPs), business cases, and contractual quotes
Maintain existing contracts, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), performance bonds and safety documents for all contractors and projects
Meet with airport authorities and attend Facilities meetings representing JetBlue as needed or expected
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
Three (3) years of combined experience working in an airport, airline, or facilities environment
Demonstrated detail orientation and problem-solving aptitude
Confidence interacting with experienced professionals and influencing/guiding the decision-making process, or, as in many cases, making outright decisions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Rapid learner
Aptitude for understanding the functionality of HVAC systems, lighting controls, electrical basics, plumbing basics, and the facility building management computer system (BMS)
Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue's insurance standards
Must be able to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Facility trade organization certificates related to facility maintenance
Leadership experience
Conveyor and/or passenger boarding bridge experience
Fire safety system / building management system experience
Familiarity with pre-conditioned air (PCA) and ground power unit (GPU) devices
Familiarity with elevator / escalator / automated door infrastructure
Excellent prioritization and reasoning skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Project management background
Crewmember Expectations:
Regular attendance and punctuality
Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice, including holidays and weather events
Able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
