Position Summary
This leader will report to the SVP, Global Technical Services and will architect the ongoing development and deployment of “Compass” – the Global Product Supply (GPS) organization’s continuous improvement program.
The program is expected to deliver standardization where it matters, promote a culture of problem solving at all levels of the organization, and create the capabilities necessary to achieve and sustain year over year business impact.
Key Responsibilities
In partnership with operating and functional leaders, define the program’s end-state ambition (the “to”) relative to both performance and health
Create a maturity model to operationalize the path between current state and future state
Assess and quantify the expected impact of the program through the maturity curve
Drive change management to promote culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement
Define fit-for-purpose manufacturing ‘production system’ with high emphasis on digital enablement for continuous improvement appropriately linked to GPS digital roadmap and overall strategy
Establish an agile operational excellence team which can be deployed based on business-critical programs or projects to transform areas within GPS
Create scalable capabilities (training, coaching, tools, etc.) which can be pulled through within OpU/ Functions to ensure focus on execution
Qualifications & Experience
At least 15 years’ experience in Operations and related functions
Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering. A master’s degree is highly valued and preferred.
Strategic agility - Strong and demonstrated strategic thinking capability with proven success & discipline to focus on execution of strategic decisions while balancing conflicting priorities.
Process Effectiveness & Drive for Results --Ability to provide innovative ideas to optimize supply chain and generate new ideas or alternatives that create value including seeking new information and external insights.
Exceptional executive written & oral communications critical with proven savvy in executive escalation of critical issues
Exceptional capability to build alignment with senior level business partners in areas including research & development, commercial operations, manufacturing site leaders/GMs, Global Supply Chain
Demonstrated strong ability to influence areas not under direct control to achieve objectives and effectively communicate challenging goals & objectives.
Demonstrated strong leadership capability with ability to make and act on decisions while balancing speed, quality and risk.
Ability to work in a matrix environment and build strong relationships by being transparent, reliable and delivering on commitments.
Experienced in management of people and challenging self and others to continuously learn and improve.
A history of success operating as a key strategic partner to commercial and R&D
A history of developing and achieving key metrics and scorecards
Successful track record of building, leading and maintaining high-performing and highly motivated teams; regarded and well respected as a strong leader
Competency in developing strategic plans, as well as directing tactical execution; strong project management skills
Ability to travel on an as-needed basis
