Salary: $27-30/hour

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team! If you have a passion for numbers, are highly organized, and enjoy supporting a dynamic accounting team, this role is perfect for you. As an integral part of our Accounting Department, you’ll work alongside talented professionals, contributing to our commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Payment & Accounts Payable: Assist in ensuring vendor invoices are paid accurately and on time, handling entry of purchase-order-related invoices and helping manage the AP filing system.
  • Reconciliation & Aging Reports: Reconcile monthly vendor statements and clean up Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports, applying credits and processing small write-offs as needed.
  • Customer Invoicing & Statements: Support AR staff during statement week by emailing invoices, running credit cards, and handling daily mailings of invoices and credit memos.
  • Batch Payments & Customer Updates: Help with batch payment processing, including selecting, preparing, and mailing vendor checks. Update customer mailing lists as necessary.
  • Administrative Support: Step in for occasional administrative duties, including post office/bank runs, mail distribution, and filing sales tax certificates, insurance forms, and personnel documents as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Educational Background: An associate’s degree in accounting or business is preferred, or equivalent experience and training in accounting.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a knack for organization.
  • Tech-Savvy Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with experience in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to Multi-Task: Excellent time management and prioritization skills to keep tasks organized and on track.
