The principal duty of all employees is to assist in the mission of the Church in the Diocese of Fort Worth.
Essential Functions of the Janitorial position are:
- Perform cleaning and routine maintenance duties of church building, auxiliary buildings and church grounds.
Job Duties to Include
- Provide recommendations to the Facilities Manager on ongoing requirements related to facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance, sweep, mop, vacuum and shampoo floors as needed.
- Make note and report items needing repair. Schedule and coordinate repairs and maintenance for requirements beyond personal capabilities.
- Attend to emergencies when necessary.
- Other duties of a janitorial or maintenance nature as may arise but not specifically listed.
Qualifications
- Must be able to physically perform Job Duties above successfully to include lifting 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must have essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, following directions, comprehension, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, organizing and innovation.
- Must be able to safely operate and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; floor buffers, extractors, high pressure washers, vacuums, power lift, etc.
- Must be able to follow directions regarding the safe and appropriate use of chemicals and supplies.
- Must be able to comply with hiring requirements, both Federal and those of the Diocese of Fort Worth.
- Able to work weekday afternoons/nights up to 19hrs, days would depend on hours you are able to work.
Evaluation:
- The person in this position will be evaluated periodically during a 90 day trial period. After this period, evaluation will normally occur on an annual basis.
