Our client is in search of a Sr. Mechanical Engineer with the following: Mechanical Engineer This position designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and product integration; conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Supports personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication. It is expected this person shall apply slip ring technology, and their understanding of the essential functions listed below to develop quick solutions to customers’ needs and requirements. Exceptional application of technical principles, analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Essential Functions: 1. Develop new products or determine how existing products can be modified to suit customers’ needs. 2. Prepare engineering analysis for projects including, preliminary designs, calculation, and reviews of initial production runs of components and assemblies. 3. Analyze data to determine feasibility of product proposals. 4. Analyze equipment specification and performance requirements to determine which designs can be produced using existing manufacturing process and methods. 5. Assist in development of predictive component and product performance. 6. Design components and assemblies using best feasibility and manufacturability methods. 7. Provide innovative ideas for improvements to existing products. 8. Provide technical expertise to support manufacturing, sales, and customers. 9. Review and approve production travelers. 10. Review engineering drawings for other engineers and approval sign-off. 11. Mentor and train new engineers. 12. Assist with supplier problems and machining/drawing inquiries. 13. Complete all required trainings including but not limited to Security Awareness, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), S.H.E (Safety, Health, and Environmental), Ethics, Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking, Quality and all performance/product related trainings. 14. Adhere to ISO procedures and ISO compliance. Required/Preferred Knowledge and Skills: 1. Exceptional analytical, communication and organization skills. 2. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. 3. Engineering background with advanced knowledge of mechanical and electric principles including testing (Slip Rings/Twist Capsules are preferred but not required). 4. Highly proficient in Engineering and Design software, both 2D and 3D (PTC Creo Parametric preferred). 5. Knowledge of bearing types, seal types/materials/techniques, and materials. 6. Experience with finish, paint and plating processes. 7. Ability to create engineering documents, wiring schematics, compliance matrices, and Bill of Materials (GD&T, revision control, engineering changes). 8. Experience with Commercial, Industrial, Aerospace, Medical, Military, Nuclear, and/or Space requirements and standards (Military is preferred but not required). 9. Understanding of power, analog and digital signals, serial communication protocols (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet), EMI, shielding and grounding principles. 10. Experience in rotary systems including electrical, coaxial, high frequency RF, fiber optics, fluid, encoders, potentiometers, and switches. 11. Understanding of wire, cables, PCB, flex tapes, and connectors with integration into electrical/mechanical systems. 12. ERP system experience to extract part information, costs, and BOM’s. 13. High degree of proficiency in computer office programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, IE, and One Note). 14. Understanding of ISO, AS 9100, and quality clauses. 15. Understanding of ITAR and EAR regulations (preferred but not required).
