We are currently seeking a motivated UCC and Zoning Official - BCO to ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other statutory requirements. This role is integral to our mission of providing safe, sustainable, and compliant design solutions to our clients. Job Description: The UCC and Zoning Official - BCO will play a vital role in reviewing construction plans, issuing permits, conducting inspections, and providing guidance on compliance with local, state, and national building codes. This position demands a professional with a deep understanding of construction practices and inspection methods. Responsibilities: Interpret and enforce building codes and zoning regulations. Conduct field inspections of various construction projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards. Review and approve building plans and specifications for code compliance. Issue building permits and coordinate with other departments and agencies involved in building construction and land development. Maintain accurate records of inspections, permits issued, and code enforcement activities. Provide technical assistance and advice to property owners, contractors, and the public regarding building codes and compliance procedures. Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and inspection methods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office™ software tools. Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle for frequent travel to project sites and client meetings. Five (5) years of experience in Code Enforcement preferred. Building Code Official Certifications for Residential and Commercial Plan Review and Inspection. A valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania driver’s license is required.
