VISA Sponsorship is NOT Available for this position Primary Location: United States (US) - North Carolina - Cary Function: Engineering (CA) Title: Senior Engineer - Vehicle Electronics Design - 108563 Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position Your Responsibilities As a Senior Engineer - Electronics Design for JD Cary located in Cary, NC, Fuquay-Varina, NC, or Augusta, GA , you will Function as a leader and contributor in areas of electrical and electronics architectures, including the definition of key components like actuators, controllers, displays, sensors and switches. Provide support developing design requirements while maintaining project plans, implementation schedules and associated metrics. Define critical path items, action plans and be able to communicate project status and metrics to leadership and other business stakeholders. Collaborate with Product Verification & Validation resources to create and execute validation plan activities (design analysis, simulation, lab tests, field tests, certification/compliance tests, etc.) for components and systems. Provide hands on build support at various stages throughout the product development cycle. What Skills You Need 5 or more years of experience developing off-highway or equivalent vehicle electrical systems with emphasis on component selection, system level requirements capture and software/hardware integration. 3 or more years of experience in component development and selection, including a solid understanding of John Deere development standards, hardware requirements documentation, electrical systems design, and electronic controls. 3 or more years of electronic hardware design (e.g. embedded controllers, generator/inverter, motors, DC/DC converters, batteries, chargers); circuit analysis; software requirements capture; CAN bus interfaces; electric or hybrid vehicle development. Demonstrated technical leadership capability and project management experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convert complex opportunities, ambiguities and obstacles into executable action items. Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%. What Makes You Stand Out 3 or more years of electrical systems engineering experience in lead role capacity. 3 or more years of product engineering experience in off-road automotive, commercial vehicles, ATV, UV or similar sized products. 3 or more years of technical experience related to the design and diagnostics of vehicle based electrical, electro-mechanical, and/or electro-hydraulic systems. Experience with engineering design and analysis tools, systems and databases. Experience in electrical component development with embedded controllers, displays, actuators, or sensors. Experience in project management, project planning and timeline tracking along with lead role/leadership experience in group environment. Hands on experience as an engineer working with hydraulic systems, electronic circuits, rigid body dynamics, power transmission or drive systems. Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: Bachelor's degree in an Electrical or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
