EXPERIENCED ELECTRIC MOTOR WINDER We are seeking experienced Class A or Class B Winders. Shermco is ISO certified, a member of EASA, AWEA, PEARL and is certified by NETA, PEV, SKF & ANAB. Job Description: Strip and record coil data for AC and DC machines (motors/generators) Cut out or remove defective coils, record data, and remove insulation from core slots. Sand blast and prepare equipment for rewinding. Cut and form insulation and insert insulation into rotor, stator, or armature slots. Install and align formed coil or random coil in slots of stators, rotors, or armatures. Replace defective coil leads and perform with oxy/acetylene brazing of connections of coils in specified sequence. Prepare, form, wind, dip/VPI and bake AC and DC windings. Minimum Qualifications to qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following minimum qualifications and requirements: High school diploma or GED; certificate from a Technical School in a mechanical or electrical trade is a plus. Strong familiarity with various electric motor & generator connections Strong knowledge of AC and DC theory and electrical circuits At least 8 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A solid mental acuity to accurately follow instructions and work procedures. A positive, team-oriented attitude in which you will take pride in your work and hold yourself accountable for the quality and accuracy of your work. A solid mechanical aptitude, including ability to effectively use all common hand tools and understand common geometric shapes. Solid shop arithmetic skills including basic algebra. Basic PC skills to check/reply to email and basic data-entry into production system. Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English. Be willing to potentially work any shift with overtime including Saturdays. Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 100lbs. short distances and at least 50 lbs. regularly; stand and work in one place for extended periods, have excellent finger dexterity, good hand/eye coordination, and good eyesight including ability to see spatially (with or without reasonable accommodations); must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests. Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work Schedule (subject to change) Hours – typical work hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. Possible to be on a 2nd shift 3:30pm to 12:30am Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. Periodic evening, weekend and holiday work will be required, subject to project scope and customer hours. Overtime – regular overtime should be expected, with occasional long weeks to meet production demands. Travel – occasional overnight trips away from home to attend industry conferences or visit customers. Working Conditions: Wearing proper personal protective equipment is required.
