We are currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer for a full-time position. We are looking for a team oriented, quality minded, and motivated candidate. In this role, the Commissioning Engineer will execute commissioning and retro-commissioning on a large variety of commercial, residential, healthcare, and government projects. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 3- 5 years in a commissioning role. Must Have Commissioning experience and be proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB). We will consider candidates from the TAB, electrical, and/or controls industry that have a good over-all understanding of MEP systems and design. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate success in the following skills and abilities: Communicate and coordinate with Neudorfer Engineers’ Cx team members and each project’s Cx team members, including, owners, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, building officials, etc. Lead meetings with clients, owners, contractors in a positive and productive manner. Schedule and lead commissioning site activities. Manage each project’s Cx schedule. Perform detailed commissionability reviews on design drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals. Identify issues with MEP design. Develop commissioning plans, prefunctional checklists, and functional tests. Perform site walks. Identify design, construction, sequence deficiencies and document via project Issues Log. Witness onsite start-up of HVAC, control, electrical, plumbing, and lighting control systems. Perform onsite verification of commissioning prefunctional checklists. Generate comprehensive punch lists, commissioning plans/reports and documentation. Lead execution of onsite commissioning Functional Performance Testing (FPT). Troubleshooting of HVAC, controls, electrical and plumbing systems. Analyze BAS Controls trends. Identify issues with systems in automatic control. Develop commissioning final report and systems manual. Review balance reports, start-up reports, contractor O&M manuals, and BAS Controls point-to-point and Performance Verification Testing (PVT) submittals. Qualifications: Five (5) years’ experience in the design, construction and start-up/Commissioning of HVAC, controls, electrical, plumbing, and lighting control for commercial buildings. Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus. Commissioning certification (NEBB, AGC, BCxA) is a plus. Proficiency with Building Management Systems. Knowledge of building energy codes, as well as energy standards. Familiarity with LEED or Title 24 green building design practices. Knowledge or exposure to the commissioning process from a global perspective. Knowledge of ASHRAE, ACG, and NEBB commissioning requirements. Knowledge of BMS and controls systems, HVAC systems, electrical, power generation, plumbing, fire alarm/life safety, lighting controls, and testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB). Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills. Desire and capability to lead others in the commissioning process. Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form. Be fully capable of working as a third party to design teams to assist in meeting the project goals in a team-focused environment. Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Possess excellent organizational skills. Capable of working on multiple activities/projects at a time. Possess an excellent work ethic and be efficient in job duties. Willing to travel for project meetings, site visits, start-up witnessing, and functional testing when necessary. Willing to work extra hours above 40 hours a week when necessary to meet project deadlines and client demands.
