Position: Physical Substation Electrical Engineer (PSEE) Location: Newark, Delaware Relocation assistance is provided Salary: Negotiable BOE level. Hiring Manager will discuss during first round interview. Overview: For our client, LevelUP is seeking a Physical Substation Electrical Engineer for a full-time position assisting in the design and development of substations and switchyards ranging from 13kV to 500kV . This role combines technical expertise with collaborative teamwork to produce high-quality engineering deliverables using AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting software. Professional Licensing: Obtain a PE license in required states within one year to sign and seal engineering drawings. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Demonstrated experience in substation physical design, with a strong focus on producing accurate, high-quality work. 6 to 10 years of substation physical layout design experience required. Key Responsibilities: Design Development: Create general arrangements, equipment plans, elevations, sections, control house layouts, grounding analysis/design, switchgear design, conduit and cable layouts, and bills of materials. Quality Assurance: Act as a Quality Champion, ensuring deliverables meet client and national standards while fostering Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives. Customer Interaction: Build strong relationships with clients through clear communication and technical support. Cross-Disciplinary Growth: Show a willingness to cross-train in additional engineering disciplines to support professional development. Mentorship: Guide junior designers/engineers to improve their knowledge of physical substation design. Bid Preparation: Support project bidding processes by assisting in estimating and preparing bid packages. Project Management: Attend scoping meetings and deliver accurate, high-quality assignments on time and within budget. Overtime Readiness: Work overtime as necessary to meet customer demands. Qualifications: Technical Skills: Proficiency in MicroStation (intermediate level required). Experience with AutoCAD (preferred). Soft Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to mentor and collaborate with team members. Commitment to detail and quality in deliverables. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
