Position Overview: Role: Military Customer Program/Sales Manager Industry: Aerospace, Defense, or Commercial Marine Key Focus: Military business development, proposal management, contract negotiation, program execution, and customer relations. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the company’s military customer business plan. Identify new business opportunities via platforms like FedBizOpps and DIBBS. Manage outside sales reps, review their monthly reports, and ensure the alignment of sales efforts with business objectives. Lead proposal efforts, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and commercial requirements. Collaborate with management for final approval before submission. Participate in contract negotiations and manage the execution of contracts. Allocate budgets and ensure project deadlines and cost objectives are met. Track and report program status to both management and customers. Mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle. Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and ITAR, and communicate these regulations to internal teams. Build and maintain relationships with military customers, including end users, supply officers, and contracting officers. Stay informed about company products and how they meet the specific needs of military customers. Ensure all completed programs are closed out in a timely manner, ensuring all obligations are satisfied and documentation is in order. Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Previous experience as a pilot or flight crew member is strongly preferred. Previous experience in inside and field sales within aerospace, defense, or commercial marine sectors. Strong understanding of the DoD acquisition process, program management principles, and the defense budget cycle. Knowledge of Export Compliance, ITAR, FAR, and DFARS. Strong technical understanding of aerospace products and how they apply to military markets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to varied audiences. MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access). High energy, well-organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
