POSITION SUMMARY

TheHospital Administrative Assistant provides high-level support for the Hospital Administrator through efficient facilitation, and coordination of the Administrative office on a daily basis. TheHospital Administrative Assistant may prepare statistical reports, handle confidential information, and perform clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Two or more years experience with insurance procedures and contracts. Must possess excellent computer and communication skills and the ability to interact with people in all levels of the organization.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Compiles statistical data from a variety of sources for the purpose of providing summaries to other personnel, and/or ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Setting appointments, arranging meetings, and maintaining calendars
  • Preparing correspondence and documents
  • Filing, typing, and using computer software with emphasis on basic word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Communicating with employees and management.
  • Providing clerical support to other departments
  • Answering questions, opening mail, receiving and transferring phone calls
  • Coordinating special projects as directed
  • Read and analyze incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine their significance and plan their distribution
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email
  • File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports
  • Compile data, and prepare papers for consideration and presentation by executives, committees and boards of directors
  • Attend meetings to record minutes
  • Set up and oversee administrative policies and procedures for offices or organizations
  • Interpret administrative and operating policies and procedures for employees
