Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the financial statement close process, including revenue recognition and billing, as well as other financial reporting and analysis for Extenet with the goal of optimizing processes with our revenue and ERP systems. The role will supervise 2-3 direct reports and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial and customer information. Depending on experience, we are open to hiring someone at a manager or senior manager level

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end Process Management: Manage the monthly financial statement close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, and account balance reconciliations.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Accounting Policy Preparation: Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures including the review and implementation of process and system changes and improvements in Dynamics 365 F&O and RecVue (revenue recognition tool).
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of direct and indirect reports, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Audit and Compliance Collaboration: Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Cash Flow Monitoring: Monitor daily cash flow by reviewing credit receipts and credit disbursements and prepare reports for record-keeping purposes.
  • Inventory Analysis: Prepare inventory analysis and comparison to forecast, return on net assets and various ratio calculations.
  • Revenue Recognition and Reconciliation: Responsible for revenue recognition and reconciliation under ASC 606.
  • Contract Review: Review contracts to determine early terminations, upgrade, and/or re-term charges.
  • Loan Covenant Compliance: Preparation of loan covenant compliance reporting.
  • Tax Preparation Assistance: Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns. Oversee the preparation of payroll tax returns and work with tax department to support general tax returns to comply with federal and state guidelines.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with AR, AP, Finance, Tax and Operation/Sales Department to ensure overall coordination of financial accounting information.
  • Correspondence Management: Manage customer and vendor correspondence, where necessary.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the dynamic needs of the accounting team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Previous management experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
