Our collaborative and team-oriented culture, prioritizing the needs of our clients, sets us apart.Position Summary:We are currently seeking a dynamic Tax Director to join our expanding Tax team in Atlanta. This is an excellent opportunity to make your mark in one of the most respected public accounting firms in the industry. The Tax Director will be responsible for overseeing tax-related projects, ensuring precise tax compliance, managing client relationships, and supervising the work of the tax team.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Oversight of Technical Tax Functions: Review and approve all tax returns and handle a diverse array of complex governmental tax examinations.Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of federal and state income tax returns in compliance with all relevant regulations.Tax Research and Delegation: Lead tax research projects to ensure efficient preparation of tax returns while maintaining quality.Client Interaction: Actively participate in client meetings, contribute to tax planning, and provide expert guidance on tax matters for larger clients.Managing and Mentoring Staff: Supervise and provide on-the-job training to tax preparers. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for tax-related queries from team members.Client Service Leadership: Assume responsibility for client service, working directly with clients as assigned by the Partner.Tax Updates: Communicate significant developments in tax regulations to firm personnel and clients.Cross-Department Collaboration: Assist the Audit team with tax-related matters for larger clients, as necessary.Requirements:Current CPA license is mandatory.At least 8 years of public accounting experience, with a proven track record of handling increasingly complex tax returns, research, and responsibilities.Minimum 2 years of experience representing clients in dealings with tax authorities.Minimum 1 year of experience managing and directing the work of tax preparers.Specialization in construction, manufacturing, general tax, and high-net-worth individuals is preferred.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; a Master’s degree in Taxation is desirable.Ongoing completion of 40 hours of continuing education per year.Good standing membership with the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).Proficiency in tax automation and workflow software (CCH ProSystem fx Tax preferred).Strong focus on client service, excellent team player, and adept at creative problem-solving.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.What We Offer:Flexible Paid Time Off: Enjoy unlimited/discretionary paid vacation, 40 flexible Friday hours, 6 wellness days, 9 paid holidays, and 2 paid floating holidays.Remote Work Options: Opportunity to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.Work-Life Balance: Embrace our "Dress for Your Day" policy and participate in various family and team social events.Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with HSA/FSA options and discounts on fitness memberships.Professional Development: Access to continuing education opportunities, tuition reimbursement, reimbursement for CPA exam, and certification expenses.Retirement: Competitive salary, merit-based bonuses, and generous funding for a 401(k) with both traditional and Roth options.Additional Benefits: Cell phone reimbursement, volunteer days, and access to coaching and mentoring programs.Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 + year-end BONUSFLEXIBLE ARRANGEMENT: Work in-office 4 days a week.
