Today, we are one of the world’s fastest growing insurance organizations, capable of writing in 128 countries on 6 continents.Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to join our team and help us manage our Commercial General Casualty portfolio. The Underwriting Manager will be responsible for reviewing and underwriting complex risks, developing pricing and risk strategies, and building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the market, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a strong track record of achieving profitable results. ​Job Responsibilities:Ensure the ongoing, profitable growth of Starr’s expanding Commercial Casualty operations.  In this role, you will be expected to:Achieve budgeted regional production and profitability goalsDevelop and expand key broker relationships and drive marketing across the assigned territoryBuild and maintain a pipeline of high-quality target opportunities across the regionCollaborate with leaders of other profit centers to drive cross-sell of applicable productsDrive team engagement and culture with a focus on developing members of the team in current and future rolesAssist with the development and implementation of underwriting strategiesMonitor claim activity and profitability and proactive adjust strategies as neededForecast and report production to regional and profit center leadershipQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., CPCU, ARM) is advantageous.7 years of experience in Casualty underwriting, with a proven track record of successful risk assessment and portfolio management.Demonstrated expertise in pricing and underwriting within the commercial casualty insurance segment.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.Proficiency in underwriting software, data analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite.For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs.
