Manufacturing Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Process Optimization:

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machining equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, gear shapers, and automated robots.
  • Conduct industrial engineering studies, including time studies, layouts, and process routings, to streamline production.
  • Program CNC machines and analyze sequences for optimal operation efficiency.

Documentation and Standardization:

  • Develop and maintain Standard Work, Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions to ensure consistent manufacturing processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead Kaizen events and other rapid improvement projects to address process inefficiencies and operational challenges. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to identify and implement cost reduction and waste elimination opportunities.

Technical and Mechanical Support:

  • Maintain and improve automated systems, bar feed machines, palletized systems, and induction heating equipment.
  • Ensure accurate setups and calibration of equipment for production runs.
  • Provide training and technical coaching to operators and technicians.

Blueprint and Quality Tool Proficiency:

  • Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support manufacturing processes.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as gages, micrometers, calipers, and other quality instruments.
  • Review and act on CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) reports and other quality tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and process control.

Project Leadership:

  • Plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and monitor project success.
  • Document and sustain improvements through standard work and training materials.

Safety and Quality:

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote ergonomic enhancements in manufacturing processes. Drive quality improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring consistent product standards.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
  • 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on CNC machining.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining (lathes, mills, grinders, automated systems) and industrial engineering processes (time studies, layouts, and routings).
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and sequence optimization.
  • Expertise in developing and interpreting Standard Work, Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience reviewing and utilizing CMM reports for quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and coach diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in project management, with experience in managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher preferred.
