YOUR ROLE:
The Overnight Assistant Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of shelter operations and staff.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Compliance and Safety:
- Verify compliance in medication room, kitchen, fleet, and logbooks.
- Coordinate with supervisors for contractual requirements (e.g., fire drills, health inspections, medication management).
- Ensure facility safety and cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with licensing standards, budget requirements, and DOH food program.
- Oversee Quality Improvement (QI) process and COA standards.
- Conduct facility walkthroughs and manage tickets.
- Maintain optimal facility appearance.
Administration and Coordination:
- Check reports, forms, and admission packets for accuracy and compliance.
- Follow YFA, DJJ, DCF, and Florida Network policies.
- Assist with site visits, contract monitoring, and action plans.
Staff Management
- Facilitate Youth Development System compliance among staff.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with probationary and annual performance evaluations of youth development staff.
- Identify and coordinate staff training needs.
- Attend staff and external meetings as assigned.
Program Development:
- Develop efficiencies for better outcomes for children and families.
- Collaborate with community providers and networks for comprehensive child services.
- Handle fundraising as needed.
- Participate in community/regional committees and teams.
- Develop and maintain annual strategic goals for the program and staff.
- Act as a certified trainer for YFA programs.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- BSW/BA in related field of study (required); MSW/MS (preferred)
- 2+ years management experience as a Shift Lead, Team Lead, or other Supervisory role (required).
- 2+ years shelter experience or experience working in a non-profit environment (preferred).
