Building Engineer

Role: Complies with all applicable codes, regulation, government agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety. Leads maintenance operations, review and assign work orders, and provides technical and procedural support and training of coworkers and/or subordinates. Oversee building system operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program and schedule to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend the lifespan of building systems. Diagnose and repair issues in building systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical issues. Perform regular inspections of the building to identify maintenance needs, structural integrity, and safety concerns. Respond to urgent maintenance requests or emergency situations. Coordinate and manage contractors or service providers for building systems such as elevator maintenance, landscaping, and fire safety inspections. Assist in preparing and managing the building’s maintenance budget, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations. Maintain an accurate and current database and records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and upgrades for all mechanical equipment. Work closely with property management, security, and construction teams to improve building operations. Assist with coordinating tenant improvement and capital expenditure projects as needed.
