As part of C2BMC-G the Global Systems Safety Engineer will provide support on-site at Schriever Space Force Base located about 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Global team, is tasked with engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team, as a whole, is very large but is broken down into many smaller agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also, responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Develop and institute test plans and provide unit-level release testing. Provide integration, verification testing, system test, and field testing. Verify security patches and STIG security configurations are operating as intended and do not degrade the functionality of the system. Develop and utilize a test artifact template to be used during testing that outlines what patches, STIG settings, or CTOs that are involved in the functional team and outcomes due to the test event. Develop and utilize a Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) for Windows and RHEL operating systems ensuring all STIG and security controls are operating as intended. Coordinate with on-site cybersecurity, system administration, network administration, and Test personnel on the installation of patches and testing to rectify vulnerabilities identified through vulnerabilities scanning techniques. Develop a tracking mechanism and Plan of action and milestones when patches and STIG settings can’t be applied as required during mandated timeframes, Must Haves: Qualified candidate must hold an active DoD Final Top Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. Experience supporting factory and system or site government security testing and verification activities (dry runs and formal government testing) Experience supporting the mitigation of findings from security testing RMF and NIST 800-53 Knowledge and Experience DISA STIG Experience Desired Skills: Operates well in fast-paced team environment Network Engineering Skills to include good understanding of TCP/IP Experience with Security Tools to Include SEIM, Intrusion Detection and Security Vulnerability Scanning EMASS Experience Security Architecture and Design Common Criteria Experience
