Integra Mission Critical
Licensed Sr. Structural Engineer
Integra Mission Critical, Houston, Texas, United States
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Structural Engineer with expertise in modular building design and construction. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of modular buildings, aligning with all applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Working closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, you will develop solutions that prioritize safety, performance, cost-effectiveness, and ease of manufacturing and field assembly. Primary Responsibilities Structural Design & Analysis: Design and analyze structural systems for modular buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations. Develop detailed plans and specifications for modular building components, including foundations, frames, and support structures. Utilize structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000) to evaluate performance under varying conditions, including seismic and wind loads. Prepare and present structural reports to inform project design and implementation. Modular Building Integration: Collaborate with architects and design teams to ensure modular components align with architectural vision and structural requirements. Optimize designs for modular construction methods, incorporating pre-fabricated components. Assess site conditions for modular feasibility, addressing foundation requirements, load-bearing capacities, and transportation logistics. Project Coordination & Management: Work closely with construction teams, contractors, and engineers to ensure accurate design execution, addressing clarifications and modifications as needed. Review and coordinate structural documents to secure regulatory approvals, meeting local and state requirements. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify compliance with design specifications, and resolve structural challenges. Provide technical support during installation and assembly, ensuring seamless integration of modular components. Quality Control & Safety: Ensure designs adhere to safety standards, local codes, and industry best practices. Perform risk assessments and develop solutions to mitigate structural failures. Oversee structural inspections and collaborate with quality control teams to maintain top-tier workmanship standards. Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Stay current with advancements in modular construction techniques, materials, and technologies. Recommend improvements to designs and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainability. Align designs with standardization methodologies to optimize product evolution. Professional Qualifications Education & Licensing: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Structural Engineer (SE) license required. Experience: At least 5 years of structural engineering experience specializing in modular building design and construction. Strong background in modular, prefabricated, or off-site construction, including design for manufacturing modular systems and components. Proficient in structural design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000) and familiar with tools like Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks. Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction standards across US and EU jurisdictions. Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects from concept to completion. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, paired with excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proven track record of managing multiple projects effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Expertise in structural modular systems and familiarity with sustainable, energy-efficient building practices, including knowledge of LEED certification and design principles. Proficient in BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and tools such as Inventor, SolidWorks, and Navisworks.
