Title: Principal Geotechnical Engineer (P.E.) Summary: Our client is looking for a motivated, driven Principal Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Columbus, OH The company is a rapidly growing Civil Engineering Consulting Firm with locations across the U.S. focused on Civil, Geotechnical, and Structural Engineering for Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Projects in the U.S. Their team consists of engineering and scientific professionals licensed in over 20 states and with over 70 years of collective experience. Type: Full-time / Perm / Hybrid (3 days a week on-site) Location: Columbus, OH (Must be willing to relocate to Columbus, OH / Must currently reside in the U.S.) Compensation / Benefits: Base Salary Range - $140k - $160k/annually, depending on experience. Sponsorship is available. Note: This position is NOT Open to C2C of Any Kind / No Exceptions Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required. Master's Degree preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required. Valid U.S. Driver's License required (and a reliable means of transportation). Must be willing to relocate to Columbus, OH. 10 years of experience in Consulting Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering. Highly experienced in planning, implementing, and managing large-scale subsurface investigation programs, related laboratory testing, and foundation design. Strong knowledge and experience in the Renewable Energy sector in the U.S., including having managed Oil & Gas and Onshore/Offshore Wind Projects in the U.S. Experienced with trenchless technologies such as jack-and-bore, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), micro-tunneling, and geotechnical investigations to support these technologies. Highly experienced in the preparation of contract documents, proposals, bids, and budgets. 7 years of Geotechnical Engineering Project Management experience required. Strong experience mentoring, leading, directing, and managing at least 5 direct technical reports. Strong geotechnical engineering consulting and business development background and experience required. Expertise in client and stakeholder relations that can be proven by references and examples. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Deep working knowledge of geotechnical software, including gINT, GeoStudio, LPILE, ALLPILE, DeepEx, and PLAXIS. Strong, hands-on experience in geophysical testing and evaluations, including active and passive MASW and ERI. Flexible and willing to travel to conduct field investigations for up to several weeks at a time sometimes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to find effective, efficient solutions to complex problems. Active participation in professional and community societies. NCEES Records account with the ability to obtain multi-state PE licensure is preferred. Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related geotechnical specialization), and/or advanced technical training is preferred. Responsibilities: Work alongside a team of high-performing engineering and technical professionals. Review and approve geotechnical engineering reports, drawings, and specifications. Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with other technical disciplines to fulfill project scope and responsibilities. Oversee the management of geotechnical field investigations, construction observation, engineering evaluations, and technical analyses completed by other staff. Prepare technical reports and summaries, manage budgets, and interface directly with agencies, clients, co-workers, and stakeholders to communicate findings and recommendations. Complete and review technical analyses prepared by others, including shallow and foundation design, support of excavation, slope stability, ground improvement, and other geotechnical analyses.
