Misericordia Heart of Mercy is a home to over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities. The Misericordia Foundation is currently hiring for a Director of Foundation Relations professional who will report to the Misericordia Foundation Executive Director and Misericordia Home Executive Vice President. The Director of Foundation Relations will be responsible for managing the following tasks: Managing Misericordia’s fundraising strategy with private and family foundations, corporate foundations, and various state grant-making agencies Researching and identifying new funding opportunities to support Misericordia mission Submitting letters of inquiry, grant applications, grant proposals, major gift proposals, acknowledgement letters and stewardship reports to current and prospective Misericordia donors Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all foundation contacts, deadlines, areas of interest, giving history Working with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge fundraising software to process grant payments and major gift donations; track proposal status, activities, deadlines Working as a Misericordia Foundation team member to write, edit, proofread variety of Development communications for annual fundraising events, quarterly newsletters, annual reports, auxiliary groups communications Managing Corporate Matching Gifts Program by verifying employee donations and submitting requests for employer matching gifts Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred Excellent communication skills in writing, editing, proofreading Minimum of 5-10 years in fundraising and Development Communications Ability to prioritize and manage multiple grant requests, reports and deadlines Strong organizational, project management and time management skills Background in development communications, public relations, journalism, marketing Proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge fundraising software Pay: Commensurate with experience, starting at $125,000
