Associate Designer / Designer

A leading Active Brand, located in the garment district of NYC is looking for an Associate Designer / Designer for Women’s Activewear. Responsibilities: Assisting Lead Designer on developing product each season Research and identify trend directions Shop market for trend and inspiration and interpret for the target market Working through all stages of product development from proto through final production sample Creating and updating CADs along with techpack detail sheets for both development and production stages Collaborating between Design, TD and Production department Communication with licensed teams through approval process Manage all deadlines within Development/Production Calendar Assist sample tracking Attend fittings and update tech packs as needed Maintain design libraries and filing systems Manage Hangtag and Packaging requests to update artwork for production orders Create packaging ideas for special projects, giftables, 2-packs, etc. Requirements: Minimum 2-3 years professional experience preferably in Activewear Strong illustrator flat sketching skills Knowledge of garment construction Well versed in Adobe Illustrator in a MAC environment Highly organized with excellent communication skills; team oriented. Ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot and problem solve Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround and deadlines Ability to prioritize workload based on design calendar Position is based in NYO
